The dealmaker is sometimes confused with the networker. The motivation of the dealmaker is usually something completely different: opportunities. If anyone has a decent Dutch translation for this trendy English word, please let me know. We have no objection to the dealmaker per se. The philosophy of the dealmaker is at least clear, namely that you can negotiate about everything in life. Every dealmaker has his own agenda. Looking for investors or sponsors, entering into partnerships or simply finding customers for the business. But a dealmaker must move with the times. It has long been about sustainability, also in relationships. Hard selling is out. Soft selling is in.
